Questionnaire Q5+6 Data and Analysis

This question asked the audience what type of villain scares them the most in a horror film. The majority of responses agreed that a 'Psycho Killer' is the most frightening villain. This may be because it is more 'real' and possible unlike a supernatural villain, meaning the audience relates to it easier and is therefore more afraid as they see it as a possibility of happening. The remaining 3 responses said Zombies, Demons and ghosts. This informs me that supernatural beings are still of interest to my audience, thankfully as my film does involve the supernatural.
This question asked wether Documentary style horror films are effective in shocking their audience. Four out of the seven responses agreed that documentary style horrors are more effective in shocking the audience then a normal narrative horror. This may be due to the idea that it makes it seem more real and closer to you, therefore scaring you more. There were two responses that disagreed, showing me that there is an interest in classic narrative horror films.
